FAQs
Booking & Pricing
How much does a private jet charter cost?
Private jet charter costs vary based on your flight. In Canada, expect rates ranging from $5,000 to $13,000+ CAD per flight hour, depending on aircraft size and route. Shorter flights typically carry higher hourly rates, while longer routes offer better per-mile value. With Air Partners, you only pay for what you fly. No ownership, no monthly fees.
Which factors affect private jet pricing?
Five factors shape your charter cost: aircraft type, flight distance, fuel requirements, crew, and airport fees. A light jet on a short regional hop costs considerably less than a heavy jet crossing time zones. Seasonal demand and onboard services also influence the final figure. Every quote reflects your specific itinerary. Nothing more, nothing less.
Are there hidden fees in private jet charters?
No. Air Partners provides all-in, transparent pricing from the start. Your quote covers aircraft, crew, and fuel. Airport-specific fees such as handling charges or seasonal surcharges at high-traffic hubs are disclosed upfront. What you see is what you pay.
How quickly can I get a charter quote?
Once you share your preferred dates, destination, and passenger count, we get to work immediately. Most quotes are turned around fast, and short-notice bookings are possible, even with as little as three hours of lead time for certain routes. Regular bookings are typically confirmed within one week of quote approval.
Do you offer one-way or empty leg flights?
Yes. Empty leg flights are available when an aircraft repositions between charters. Same aircraft, same private terminal experience, same crew — typically at 30–50% below standard charter rates. Routes and timing are fixed, so flexibility on your end is key. When the right flight appears, it moves fast.
Aircraft & Fleet Options
What types of aircraft do you offer?

- Super-Midsize Jets: Up to 9 passengers with stand-up cabin comfort

Not sure what fits your group? We’ll match the right aircraft to your itinerary.
What is the range of your jets?
Range varies across the fleet:

- Midsize Jets: Up to 4,700 km, covering cross-country travel comfortably
- Super-Midsize Jets: Up to 5,350 km, reaching the continental US and beyond
- Heavy Jets: Up to 6,050 km, built for long-haul and international missions
Can I choose a specific aircraft model?
Yes. You can request a specific aircraft, and we’ll do our best to accommodate based on availability. If your preferred model isn’t available on your dates, we’ll recommend the closest match. Same comfort standard, same Air Partners experience. Our team guides every selection to ensure the aircraft fits your mission perfectly.
Are turboprops or light jets more cost-effective?
For short regional routes, turboprops like the King Air 350 offer a cost-effective entry point with access to smaller airports and up to 8 passengers. Light jets step up with greater speed and range at a modest premium. The right choice depends on your route, group size, and how you value time in the air.
Safety & Compliance
How does Air Partners ensure flight safety?
Safety at Air Partners is paramount. Every aircraft in our fleet is maintained in-house, operated by veteran flight crews, and our 114 years of combined leadership experience means safety is embedded in every decision, on the ground and in the air. We hold four elite safety certifications — ARGUS Platinum, Wyvern Wingman, IS-BAO, and Contrail — the last of which is exclusive to Air Partners by Take Flight Group in Canada.
Are your operators FAA certified?
Yes. All Air Partners aircraft and operations are fully certified under Transport Canada regulations, the governing authority for Canadian aviation. Our operational standards meet and exceed the requirements set for commercial air operators. Every flight is conducted under a certified Air Operator Certificate, ensuring full regulatory compliance on every route we fly.
What safety standards do you follow?
Air Partners holds all four elite private aviation safety certifications:
- ARGUS Platinum: The highest rating in charter safety evaluation
- Wyvern Wingman: Rigorous operational and crew standards
- IS-BAO: International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations
- Contrail: Exclusive to Air Partners in Canada
Together, these represent the most comprehensive safety framework available in private aviation.
How are pilots vetted?
Every Air Partners pilot is selected through a rigorous vetting process covering flight hours, technical proficiency, and experience. Crews undergo regular recurrent training, simulator evaluations, and operational reviews. Beyond credentials, our pilots are chosen for their judgment, composure, and hospitality mindset. You’re never just in capable hands, you’re in experienced ones.
Do you conduct third-party safety audits?
Yes. Air Partners undergoes independent third-party safety audits as part of maintaining our ARGUS Platinum, Wyvern Wingman, and IS-BAO certifications. These audits evaluate everything from aircraft maintenance records and crew qualifications to operational procedures and emergency protocols. Passing them isn’t optional. It’s what keeps our certifications active. It’s also what gives our clients, and the brokers who refer them, complete confidence in every booking.
Flights, Scheduling & Logistics
How far in advance do I need to book?
You can book a flight anytime. Most bookings are confirmed within one week of quote approval, but there’s no minimum lead time. If your schedule is flexible, book early for peak seasons (November–April) to secure preferred aircraft. If it’s urgent, we move fast. The process adapts to your timeline, not the other way around.
Can I book same-day or last-minute flights?
Yes. Last-minute bookings are possible, and we can confirm flights with as little as three hours of lead time for short-haul routes. Our operations team is available 24/7 to coordinate departures as quickly and seamlessly as possible. Longer international flights require more coordination, but urgent requests are accommodated whenever possible.
What airports can you fly into?
Air Partners can fly into nearly any airport with runway access. From major international hubs to smaller regional fields that commercial airlines can’t reach. Operating from our Calgary, Vancouver, and Edmonton hangars – or anywhere in Western Canada – we serve 5 continents, 50+ countries, and 500+ cities. Most flights depart from private FBOs (Fixed-Base Operators), giving you direct airside access without commercial terminals.
How early do I need to arrive before departure?
Plan to arrive 15–20 minutes before departure. You’ll access our private terminals in Calgary, Vancouver, or Edmonton premium lounges designed for absolute discretion with no security lines, no crowds, and no delays. Check-in is seamless, and you board directly from the lounge. The aircraft waits for you.
Can I change my itinerary after booking?
Yes. If your plans shift, contact us as soon as possible. Changes to departure times, routes, or passenger counts can often be accommodated depending on aircraft availability and operational logistics. The earlier you notify us, the more flexibility we have. Our team works with you to adjust whenever possible.
International & Special Missions
Do you arrange international private jet flights?
Yes. Air Partners coordinates flights across five continents, serving more than 50 countries and 500 cities worldwide. From transcontinental business travel to complex, multi-leg international itineraries, our team manages every detail, including flight planning, fuel coordination, ground handling, and customs arrangements.
Our fleet includes heavy aircraft capable of long-range, non-stop travel across Canada, North America, and select international routes. Whether for business or leisure, we ensure the experience is seamless from departure to arrival.
Can you handle customs and overflight permits?
Absolutely. International flights require precise coordination of customs clearances, overflight permits, landing rights, and diplomatic protocols. Air Partners manages all of it: working directly with handlers, aviation authorities, and customs officials to secure approvals before you board. Every permit, every clearance, every regulatory requirement is handled in advance. You arrive at the private terminal, and the paperwork is already done.
Can pets fly internationally on charter flights?
Yes. Pets are welcome on Air Partners flights, including international routes. Cabin comfort for your pet is handled with the same care as every other detail — whether that means specific temperature settings, in-flight arrangements, or ground handler briefings at arrival. Just let us know in advance.
Payments, Contracts & Policies
What payment methods do you accept?
Air Partners accepts wire transfers and credit cards. Wire transfer is preferred for efficiency, but credit card payments are welcome with a 3.5% processing fee. If paying by credit card, a hold is placed until the wire clears. All payment terms are outlined in your quote.
When is payment due?
Payment is typically due 5 days before your flight. This ensures all logistics are confirmed and your aircraft is secured. For last-minute bookings, our team will work with your timeline to process payment quickly and get you airborne without delay.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation fees depend on timing:
- +72 hours before departure: 25% of quoted price.
- 48–72 hours before departure: 50% of the quoted price.
- Within 24 hours of departure: 100% of the quoted price.
- If the confirmed aircraft becomes unavailable, Air Partners will make reasonable efforts to substitute a comparable aircraft with your authorization.
- If a flight cannot be performed or completed, Air Partners’ liability is limited to a refund of the charter price as outlined in the quote.
- Passengers denied entry into a destination country are responsible for the resulting flight costs and fines.
These terms reflect the operational commitments made on your behalf. For repeat clients, we evaluate cancellations case-by-case and offer flexibility whenever possible.
Are contracts required for every flight?
Yes. Every flight requires a signed charter agreement that outlines the route, aircraft, pricing, payment terms, and cancellation policy. This protects both parties and ensures complete transparency. The contract is reviewed before booking, and confirmed once you’re ready to proceed. No hidden clauses, no surprises.
